Description
Thuloausadhi aka False Spirea is scientifically known as Astilbe rivularis Buck-ham. It is a species of perennial herb in the family Saxifragaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form and is found in Himalayas from subtropical to subalpine regions of Nepal.
Rhizomes of Thuloausadhi is consist of Chemical constituents like flavonoids, terpenoids and bergennin as well as high percentage of arbutin, astilbic acid etc. Hence, the Rhizomes of Thuloausadhi is considered a tonic. Whereas, its powder is astringent to pre and post pregnancy. Likewise, the rhizome paste is beneficial to treat peptic ulcer, diarrhea and dysentery.
